Basic Climbing Class

Applications for BCC 2027 are open November 1 – November 30, 2026.

The WAC Basic Climbing Class (BCC) offers a comprehensive introduction to the technical mountaineering skills required to travel safely over snowfields, glaciers, and high-angle rock. The 16-week program is entirely volunteer led†  Students graduate as a competent and trustworthy follower for technical alpine routes in the Pacific Northwest, and develop a solid foundation to become leaders in future climbs. Many graduates climb with fellow students and instructors after the class.

Tuition is $755 + tax.  Scholarships, local store discounts, and free gear loan opportunities are available to help reduce class expenses.
